This piece was made circa 1850 during the Victorian era, a period in English history defined by the reign of Queen Victoria, from 1837 to 1901. In the mid-19th century naturalistic decoration flourished in jewellery in the form of realistic flowers, leaves and buds. The beautiful sculptural leaves and filigree detail on this piece are very typical of the era.
